DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN COLOMBO – TRANSFER TO ANURADHAPURA

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where you will be greeted and transferred to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the world’s oldest recorded tree, and the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa. Explore other sacred sites, including Thuparamaya Dagoba and Isurumuniya Temple. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

DAY 2: ANURADHAPURA TO MIHINTALE & DAMBULLA

After breakfast, visit Mihintale, the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Explore the monastic caves and stupas before heading to Dambulla, home to the Golden Cave Temple, a UNESCO-listed site with magnificent Buddhist murals and statues. Check in at your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Dambulla.

DAY 3: DAMBULLA TO KANDY – TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH RELIC

Travel to Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. En route, stop at the Nalanda Gedige Temple, an ancient fusion of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the revered tooth of Lord Buddha. In the evening, witness a traditional Kandyan cultural dance. Overnight stay in Kandy.

DAY 4: KANDY TO ADAM’S PEAK (SRI PADA)

Depart early for Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada), a sacred mountain revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, and Muslims. Embark on a spiritual trek to witness the sunrise at the summit, where the famous footprint of Lord Buddha is believed to be located. Descend and rest at a nearby hotel. Overnight stay near Adam’s Peak.

DAY 5: ADAM’S PEAK TO KATARAGAMA

Travel to Kataragama, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Visit the Kataragama Temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan, and participate in the evening pooja ceremony. Explore the Sella Kataragama Temple and the sacred Menik Ganga (Gem River), where pilgrims perform purification rituals. Overnight stay in Kataragama.

DAY 6: KATARAGAMA TO COLOMBO – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, return to Colombo. If time permits, visit Gangaramaya Temple and the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Colombo. Enjoy a farewell lunch before being transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
