Kashmir’s Splendid Escapade

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast, followed by a visit to the renowned Mughal Gardens in Srinagar. Explore Nishat Bagh (the garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (the abode of love), both situated on the banks of Dal Lake. Nishat Bagh is the larger of the two and features impressive Chinar trees on its highest terrace. The symmetrical layout, central waterways, and fountains make these gardens a delight. Then, I went to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After a delightful breakfast, embark on a 146 km (approximately 4 to 5 hours) drive to Pahalgam, often referred to as the "Valley of Shepherds", at an altitude of 2440 meters. En route, visit saffron fields and the ancient Awantipura ruins, which are historic temples dating back eleven hundred years. Pahalgam is famously known as a favourite spot for the Indian film industry. Around 11 km from Pahalgam is the charming Arru Valley, offering serene and picturesque surroundings to tourists. Check in at your pre-booked hotel and stay overnight.

Early in the morning, drive to Gulmarg via Tangmarg Road, offering picturesque views of willow trees, fast-flowing streams, and lush green meadows. Gulmarg, often called the "Meadow of Flowers," is a captivating meadow filled with colourful blooms nestled against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and dense coniferous forests. Covering approximately 50 km, arrive in Gulmarg and check in at your pre-booked hotel. Enjoy an evening at your leisure, and you can opt for a thrilling Gondola ride from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg for panoramic views of the fir-clad slopes. Stroll through enchanting valleys, mountains, and streams. Dinner and overnight stay at your pre-booked hotel.
